On worship in the Church:
“Music in the church has been undergoing change for hundreds of years. However, basic biblical goals have not changed. We recognize that the most important aspect of the worship service is the pre-eminence of the Scripture and the focus on our God. Music must always support the Word and be the servant of our faith.”
In addition to his responsibilities at the church, Pastor Plew is also the Chairman of the Music Department and the Director of Choral Activites at The Master’s College, a position he has held since 1979. Prior to coming to the college, Dr. Plew was the Music Pastor at Temple Baptist Church in Tacoma, Washington. He is a member of the American Choral Director’s Association, co-founder and past president of the Santa Clarita Music Educators Association, and past president of the National Association of Church Musicians (formerly Choral Conductors Guild). Dr. Plew conducts the Collegiate Singers, a one hundred forty voice campus choir, The Master’s Chorale, a 55 member auditioned choir, and Majesty, a small contemporary directions group. He has led these groups
on tours to England, Ireland, Russia, Canada, Italy, Israel, Germany, Spain, and virtually every state in the union.
Paul is married to his wife Pamela and they have three grown children and six grandchildren.
